Jennifer Stang is a Diplomat of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as well as a licensed Acupuncturist in the states of Texas (Lic. #AC01374), New Jersey and New York.
Jennifer began her academic career as an undergraduate at Connecticut College in New London, CT, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Immediately upon graduation, Jennifer pursued a career in research, working for two years at a psychiatric hospital on a longitudinal National Institute of Mental Health study on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It was during this time that Jennifer began to gain an interest in the efficacy of acupuncture and Chinese medicine for a wide array of disorders, specifically anxiety-related conditions.
As a result, Jennifer then continued on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture, graduating from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City.
During her graduate education, Jennifer trained in numerous styles of acupuncture including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), Kiiko Style Japanese Acupuncture, Five Element Style, and Classical Chinese Acupuncture. In addition, Jennifer has taken continuing education courses to become proficient in Dr. Tan’s Balance Method Acupuncture and Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture.
In addition, Jennifer became a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal trainer in 2009 to enhance her career in the health and wellness profession and learn how to incorporate activity and lifestyle changes more fluidly into her clients’ lives.
While Jennifer has helped patients with hundreds of conditions, Jennifer specializes in women’s health, cosmetic and orthopedic acupuncture.
